At the meeting, the list of China's top 500 petroleum and chemical enterprises in 2020, the list of Top 100 enterprises in different industries and the Development index of China's petroleum and chemical industry in 2020 were released.
China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, China Petroleum and Natural Gas Corporation, and China Offshore Oil Corporation are the top three with 2,849.06 billion yuan, 2,653.9 billion yuan and 7,508 billion yuan respectively in main business revenue.
It was reported that the main business income of the 500 comprehensive enterprise groups in this year's list reached 13.5 trillion yuan on record, an increase of 400 billion yuan year on year, or an increase of 3%, higher than the economic growth rate of the industry.
The 500 enterprises in the list of independent production and operation enterprises formed after deducting the turnover of non-chemical industry, their main business income has reached 8.72 trillion yuan, accounting for 70.1% of the total main business income of the whole industry.
Eleven petrochemical companies and 15 coal chemical companies are among the world's top 500.
In his speech, Li Shousheng, secretary of CPC Committee and President of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, fully affirmed the significance of the top 500 chemical enterprises in the past 17 years and the development achievements of chemical enterprises, and put forward five requirements for the future work of the whole industry: strengthen strategic management and complete the compilation of the 14th five-year Plan of the industry with high quality;

However, the profit level of listed companies has declined, which has become a weak point for China to become a petrochemical power.
Wang Emphasized that although the top 50 enterprises in the list are large in scale, their efficiency and competitiveness are not ideal and there is still a big gap between them and the world-class level.
